A Pilgrimage

When I started this blog a few days ago I felt really helpless.  I asked my self over and over again ..... What can I do ? Where do I start ?

But after deciding to write about my dilemma's  it's becoming clear in my mind.

Maybe I want to do a Pilgrimage. Not to Santiago de Compostela but to Rome.

This can be a good start to fulfill my dreams. I will have to leave my children behind but only for 4 months or so - and they can visit me in the weekends or holidays while I am walking.

So I decided to look for information on the Net about this subject.

There is the Via Francigena  - You can walk from Canterbury to Rome.  I guess this is it. This is where I am going to start.

I will have to set up a scheme to practice walking.

I am glad that I found a way out - at least to have a reachable goal.  It's a small step but a good one.

2nd dilemma

My second dilemma or problem is money.

Money makes the world go round but obviously I do not have enough money to travel around the World and do nothing but sightseeing.

The costs are obvious. You have to eat every day and find a place to sleep. Even if I would walk - and save money for transportation -  I would have to eat.

So - there it is - a big obstacle to fulfill my dreams.

But surfing around the net you can find a lot of ideas to travel very cheap ( couch surfing for example) 

Time for me to explore this idea.

First Dilemma

I have a lot of dilemma's. They are holding me back from doing the things I really want in life.

I guess this is normal. But I really want a way out. So that's why I'm writing this - to try to sort things out in my head.

My first dilemma is of course : MY CHILDREN.

I have to take care of my children and can not leave them just like that.

I have a wonderful partner - he is really a great dad - but it's not fair to leave them behind while I am doing my thing.

So - that is really something I have to overcome. This BIG dilemma which is holding me back from doing the things I really want in life.

I want to travel the world without taking a plane. My biggest dream is just to travel the world - by car - or by bus - train - or walking. I really do not care actually.
